A drink you must drink

A drink you must drink

If you’ve not seen the OK! Margarita Seltzer floating around the traps, there's a possibility you’ve lost sight. This drink is extremely delicious, reminiscent of summers gone by. It’s created with fresh fruit, hand-imported mezcal and a lot of love. It’s now on the shelves at Paranormal and is the only place you’ll find it in ACT, earthlings.

2021 Wineslinger Awards

2021 Wineslinger Awards

Yours truly has been recognised by Young Gun of Wine as one of the top five wine venues in Canberra. An out-of-this-world moment for us. We congratulate our friends at Bar Rochford, Rebel Rebel, XO and Corella Bar for their fine company on the list. If you’d like to support your favourite spacy bottle shop-wine bar in the People’s Choice Awards, extend us a vote – voters can win things too.

A Halloween special

A Halloween special

In case it flew under your radar, our apricot-y, quince-y, fizzy piquette, made with Bryan Martin, is now on our shelves. As a Halloween treat, we’re giving away ~ a free bottle ~ of Paranormal Fizz with every in-shop retail purchase over $100 till next Friday. For the unacquainted, piquettes are not wine, but slightly fizzy alcoholic liquids, traditionally drunk by vineyard workers. Ours employs Chardonnay and Zibibbo skins and results in a plum-coloured liquid prime for hot-weather drinking. Very limited, 10% ABV.

Momento Mori Staring at the Sun

Momento Mori Staring at the Sun

Sun wine for sunshine (once the rain clears for good), via Momento Mori. Hannah and Dane’s Staring at the Sun is a fiano, vermentino and moscato giallo moment — orange in colour, tangy on the tongue. This liquid smells like high spring and tastes much the same. Locate citrusy acidity and chalky tannins. As it is every year this bottle is coveted, so move swiftly if you’d like it on any end-of-year-festivity table of yours.

2020 Nestarec DANGER 380 Volts

2020 Nestarec DANGER 380 Volts

Prepared to get your spring drinking bottles in order? Peruse no further — this is one of our faves. Czech Republic's Milan Nestarec knows how to produce pét-nat and 380 Volts is a fine example. It’s a blend of Müller Thurgau, Neubürger and Muscat but all you urgently must know is that it drinks like a yellow Fruit Tingle. Only a few bottles floating around so you must procure faster than the speed of light. Hassett Park awaits.
